Job summary

AUTOKINITON is seeking a Quality Engineer for our Plymouth, MI facility. The role focuses on leading quality initiatives, ensuring PPAP readiness, and maintaining ISO-conforming processes across supplier development and internal quality systems.

The successful candidate will demonstrate strong GD&T knowledge, experience with CMM/laser scanning, and ability to drive cross-functional teams to prevent defects and improve performance. On-site role with competitive benefits.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and conduct meetings with customers, suppliers, and in-plant personnel.
• Provide input into development of departmental strategic goals with measurable support
• Serve as main contact for external customer concerns and track complaints
• Work with customers to obtain APQP documents (Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plans)
• Support ISO audits against ISO 9001:2015, ISO 17025:2017
• Perform research and design for quality processes and controls
• Evaluate designs, drawings, project plans and specs
• Lead cross-functional problem solving and mistake-proofing
• Drive progressive quality system to prevent defects and meet customer expectations
• Develop and maintain company performance metrics and reports
• Travel to customers, vendors, and suppliers and generate visitation reports
• Assist in training Advanced Quality Technicians including gage training
• Audit and assist with quality procedures and buy-off criteria for tools, parts, assemblies
• Prepare setup instructions, fixture instructions, operator inspection instructions
• Prepare deviation forms and ensure corrective actions are closed
• Ensure all corrective actions and preventive counter measures are verified
