Job summary

Akkodis is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer in Auburn Hills, MI onsite to lead supplier quality activities for new product development and launch programs. You will manage APQP and PPAP processes, collaborate with Engineering and Purchasing on feasibility reviews and component approvals, monitor supplier performance and quality deliverables, and drive 8D corrective actions.

Travel to supplier locations is required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
• 3-5 years of automotive industry and/or engineering experience
• Experience deploying and/or auditing APQP, PPAP, 8D, FMEA, SPC, VDA
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 / VDA and ISO 14001 requirements
• Experience in project management
• Strong oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier quality activities for new product development and launch programs
• Manage APQP and PPAP processes to ensure supplier readiness and compliance
• Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, and suppliers on feasibility reviews, quality planning, and component approvals
• Monitor supplier performance, project milestones, and quality deliverables to meet launch timing requirements
• Conduct supplier audits, production trials, Run-at-Rate events, and process assessments
• Drive root cause analysis, corrective actions, and resolution of supplier quality issues through 8D methodology
• Ensure compliance with quality standards, supplier requirements, and documentation processes
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, supplier development, and lessons learned implementation
• Act as the primary quality contact for suppliers throughout the product lifecycle
• Travel to supplier locations as needed to support project and quality activities
