Job summary

Elcon Precision LLC in San Jose, CA is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to lead complex quality investigations and metrology development in aerospace manufacturing. You will establish control plans, PFMEAs, and inspection methods while guiding cross-functional teams to reduce defects and improve process capability.

The role requires deep GD&T knowledge, MSA/Gage R&R expertise, and experience with CMMs, data analytics, and supplier quality management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Materials Science, or related field.
• Typically 7+ years of quality/manufacturing engineering experience.
• Aerospace/defense or other regulated manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead investigations for customer complaints, escapes and nonconformances.
• Develop and maintain quality dashboards and KPIs.
• Create and manage PFMEAs, control plans, and inspection plans.
• Interpret GD&T, drawings, and customer specifications for metrology needs.
• Oversee metrology methods, CMM setups, and measurement-system analyses.
• Drive corrective actions via 8D, RCCA, and supplier quality improvement.
