Job summary

United Launch Alliance is seeking a Quality Engineer 3 for a 4th shift (Thu–Sat nights, 12 hours) at the Decatur fabrication workcenter. You will serve as the primary quality contact for operations, support production, ensure compliance with quality standards, and drive continuous improvement in a high‑performance aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical field from an accredited college or university.
• Demonstrated experience in root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and/or issue resolution, preferably within a production or manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a cross-functional team.
• Ability to be on-call outside of working hours for remote support as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead quality contact for area operations.
• Process nonconformance documentation and perform evaluations to restore product conformity.
• Review production planning for accuracy and adequacy to ensure quality data is properly captured.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis and implement Corrective Actions.
• Write, issue, and review First Article Inspection (FAI) reports in accordance with applicable standards.
• Perform planning reviews to ensure inspection needs and requirements are fully addressed.
• Conduct regular 5S walkdowns to maintain clean, safe, and organized work areas.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and other assigned quality-related tasks.
• May be required to be on-call outside of standard working hours for remote support as needed.
