Job summary

United Launch Alliance (ULA) in Decatur, AL is seeking a Quality Engineer 3 for a 4th shift (Thu–Sat, 12 hours, 6pm–6:30am). You will be the primary quality contact during operations at a fabrication workcenter, driving quality compliance and continuous improvement in an aerospace environment.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a technical field, 2+ years of related experience, and ability to perform root cause analysis, corrective actions, and on-call support as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or other technical field from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of 2 years of related work experience.
• Demonstrated experience in root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and/or issue resolution in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Ability to be on-call outside of working hours for remote support as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality contact for area operations.
• Process nonconformance documentation and evaluations to restore product conformity.
• Review production planning for accuracy and adequacy to ensure quality data is captured.
• Conduct Root Cause Analysis and implement Corrective Actions.
• Write, issue, and review First Article Inspection (FAI) reports per standards.
• Plan inspections to address needed requirements.
• Conduct regular 5S walkdowns to maintain clean, safe work areas.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and other quality-related tasks.
