Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Quality Engineer for electronics manufacturing to lead QA planning, optimize processes, and ensure supplier quality across global accounts. You will drive corrective actions, mentor technicians, and coordinate with suppliers and customers on quality issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quality/Manufacturing/Electronic/Industrial Engineering or a closely related field.
• At least 3+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer in electronics manufacturing or similar industry.
• Experience with quality tools including PFMEA, PFD, Control Plans, 8D, A3, DMAIC, Lean Six Sigma, PDCA, PPAP, AQP, Audit, SPC, RCA, TPM, VSM, 5S, Process Capacity, 3Way 5Whys, Risk Assessment, and FTA.
• Experience with ISO certification programs and Lean manufacturing principles.
• Supervisory or lead experience is preferred for future project/leadership opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Represent the quality function of technical support regarding issues affecting manufacturing on global customer accounts.
• Serve as liaison between Jabil Circuit and suppliers or customers on global quality-related issues.
• Develop and maintain QA plans and timelines for global new product introductions using Advanced Product Quality Planning and Process Optimization.
• Support quoting activities through initial process design, development, and implementation.
• Evaluate and provide input to inspection processes, inspection aids, and instruction guidelines.
• Develop and implement specialized customer-specific training sessions.
• Develop systems for document storage, access, review, and maintenance.
• Review supplier, internal, and customer discrepancies.
• Coordinate and track corrective/preventive action efforts.
• Participate in vendor surveys and support supplier process improvement efforts.
• Interface with departments regarding policies and procedures.
• Provide assistance with process improvement and optimization using proactive methodologies.
• Drive standardization of manufacturing processes for global customer accounts.
• Provide technical support to customers on quality issues.
• Adhere to safety, health, and company security procedures.
• Support corrective action efforts using SPC data and corrective action tracking tools.
• Improve technical support for the quality organization.
• Supervise quality technicians and inspectors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or in a closely related field

• Experience working with quality tools, including PFMEA, PFD, Control Plans, 8D, A3, DMAIC, Lean Six Sigma, PDCA, PPAP, AQP, Audit, SPC, Root Cause Analysis, TPM, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Process Capacity, 3Way 5Whys, Risk Assessment, and Failure Tree Analysis
• Experience with ISO certification programs
• Experience in Lean manufacturing principles
• Supervisory or lead experience is preferred for future project/leadership opportunities
• Equivalent combination of education, experience, and/or training accepted
