Job summary

The Marvin Group, a leading defense contractor based in Southern California near LAX, seeks a Quality Control Inspector to perform thorough product inspections and document findings in SAP. You will ensure compliance with MEC requirements, drawings, and contractual obligations, contributing to high product standards.

Essential duties include independent inspections, GD&T interpretation, and generating reports, with potential travel for Source inspections.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Certification in GD&T and/or 3 years of GD&T inspection experience preferred.
• Five years minimum experience as a QC inspector.
• ASQ topics certifications or college degree in Engineering a plus.
• Quality-related certifications (CSUDH Quality courses) a plus.
• Strong reading of hardware blueprints and tolerances.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Able to perform basic math and computer tasks.
• Willingness to learn and teamwork.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 35 lbs.
• Familiarity with SAP is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent inspections and verifications to ensure compliance with MEC processes and contracts.
• Visual inspection of mechanical assemblies, soldering, and paint finishes per engineering requirements.
• Review non-destructive test and supplier documentation per MEC policy.
• Generate inspection reports and quality notifications.
• Conduct first piece validations in support of manufacturing areas.
• Witness and validate fastener applications (torque, rivets, sealants).
• Support all QC areas including receiving and in-process inspection.
• Interface with suppliers and internal customers; travel to supplier facilities may be required.
