Job summary

Novax Recruitment Group is recruiting a Senior QA/QC professional to represent the owner on a major industrial construction programme in Reno. This role is field-focused, ensuring contractors and suppliers meet drawings, specifications, codes and contract requirements.

Qualifications

• Significant QA/QC experience on large industrial construction projects.
• Previous Owner’s Representative, EPC, inspection-agency or client-side experience is preferred.
• Strong field knowledge across multiple construction disciplines.
• Experience managing contractors rather than inspecting every item personally.
• Confidence dealing with superintendents, project managers and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Represent the owner across all construction quality matters.
• Monitor contractor and subcontractor quality performance.
• Verify work against drawings, specifications, ITPs and applicable codes.
• Oversee civil, structural, mechanical, piping, welding and electrical inspections.
• Coordinate and manage third-party testing and inspection agencies.
• Review inspection reports, material certifications and turnover packages.
• Identify non-conforming work and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Witness testing, hold points and critical installation activities.
• Support punch-list development, commissioning and final handover.
• Provide clear, independent reporting to the owner's project leadership team.
• Challenge poor workmanship or non-compliance before it affects programme delivery.

I'm recruiting for a Senior QA/QC professional to represent the owner on a major industrial construction programme.

This is not a contractor-side quality role. You will act as the owner's eyes and ears in the field, independently verifying that contractors, subcontractors and suppliers deliver work in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, codes and contractual requirements.

• A practical understanding of NCRs, RFIs, ITPs, audits, turnover and commissioning documentation
• Willingness to remain highly visible and active on site

Experience in advanced manufacturing, battery materials, energy, chemicals, mining, semiconductor or other process-intensive facilities would be particularly relevant.

Credentials such as AWS CWI, ICC, API, ASQ or NDT Level II/III would be advantageous but practical owner-side construction experience is the priority.

This position would suit someone who understands that the Owner's Representative role is not simply about finding defects - it is about protecting the owner's investment, anticipating risk and ensuring the facility is built correctly the first time.
