You're a hands-on QA/QC leader with deep MEP and construction oversight experience in mission-critical environments, this role offers long-term project exposure, autonomy, and visibility across some of the most advanced facilities in the country.
The Role
As a QA/QC Construction Manager, you'll act as the owner/contractor's on-site advocate, ensuring all work meets stringent quality, schedule, and scope requirements. The role blends construction management, owner's rep responsibilities, and strong QA/QC field leadership, with a core focus on L1-L3 phases (design validation, procurement, and construction).
You will not execute commissioning tests, but you'll ensure every site is fully commissioning-ready, with issues identified and resolved early.
Key Responsibilities
Construction Management & Owner Advocacy
- Serve as the owner's "eyes and ears" on site, ensuring alignment with project QA/QC specifications and program standards
- Proactively identify, elevate, and resolve quality risks to maintain schedule and commissioning readiness
- Coordinate across owners, designers, contractors, vendors, and trade partners
- Support contract administration, compliance, and scope clarification where quality issues arise
QA/QC Field Leadership (L1-L3 Focus)
- Verify installations comply with drawings, specifications, codes, and QA/QC frameworks
- Ensure inspections, documentation, and issue tracking align with the commissioning plan of record
- Enforce HSE and LOTO requirements in collaboration with site teams
- Confirm completion and accuracy of pre-functional checklists, punch lists, and QA/QC documentation
- Validate equipment start-up prerequisites and vendor documentation
- Drive early issue resolution to prevent L4-L5 commissioning delays
Document Control & Technical Reviews
- Review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs
- Maintain field document control including as-builts, inspections, and vendor data
- Utilize tools such as Procore, BIM 360/ACC, Bluebeam, MS Project/P6, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
Reporting & Metrics
- Maintain inspection and test records
- Track non-conformance, perform root-cause analysis, and drive closure
- Produce quality metrics and dashboards for stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
Technical Expertise
- Strong working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and controls systems in mission-critical environments
- Proven ability to manage quality and schedule inputs across multiple stakeholders
Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, or related field
- OR
- 2+ years hands-on install/testing/validation experience (MEP or controls) plus 5+ years related experience
Skills
- Advanced MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Exceptional organization and document control skills
- Clear, confident communicator - technical and non-technical
- Comfortable leveraging AI and emerging technologies to improve workflows
Safety & Compliance
- Ability to obtain NFPA 70E and/or OSHA training
- Strong commitment to HSE and LOTO policies
Travel & Relocation
- 75-100% travel across the U.S.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to rent vehicles required
- Extended project assignments may last 9 months to 4 years
- Projects located within all 50 U.S. states
