Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Construction Quality Manager II to run the quality control program on large or multi-phase projects, including heavy civil, industrial, or USACE/NAVFAC work, writing the QC plan and leading three-phase control meetings with field inspectors. You supervise QC inspectors, review reports, coordinate lab testing and approvals, and ensure NCRs have a documented cause, corrective action, and a closed retest.

Travel to active sites is required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years in construction quality control or special inspection, incl. 2+ years supervising inspectors.
• USACE CQM-C certificate + ICC special inspector or NICET Level III.
• Experience on USACE, NAVFAC, DOT, or industrial owner quality programs.
• Writes clearly under pressure in meetings with superintendents and owners.

Responsibilities

• Write and maintain the project quality control plan and get it accepted by the owner or agency; lead preparatory, initial, and follow-up phase meetings.
• Supervise QC inspectors and testing technicians; assign daily coverage and review reports.
• Run the nonconformance and corrective-action process and present it in owner QA/QC meetings.
• Coordinate laboratory testing, mix design approvals, and material certifications across subcontractors.
