Job summary

Charles Schwab is seeking a QA-focused Software Developer to deliver high-quality features for Schwab Retail and Retirement web apps. You will develop and execute comprehensive testing across functional, integration, API, and end-to-end areas, partnering with engineers, product owners, and stakeholders throughout the SDLC to identify risks and improve coverage.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
• 5+ years developing, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts.
• Solid understanding of QA practices (black box, risk-based, system, regression, exploratory).
• Hands-on coding experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, Ruby, Java, C# or other OO languages.
• Experience with Selenium WebDriver, Angular UI testing (Protractor/WebdriverIO), or similar.
• Experience writing automated tests for cross browser (SauceLabs) and localization testing.
• Experience with accessibility testing.
• Experience with Agile development practices.
• Ability to participate in product code reviews.
• Working knowledge of tools like JIRA, Zephyr for bugs and test cases.
• Hands-on experience with Web services virtualization.
• Experience leading and mentoring junior staff.

Responsibilities

• Define Test Strategy including Cross-Browser, Localization, Accessibility, and Resiliency testing.
• Write manual and automated test cases from requirements.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and cross browser testing.
• Track defects, report results, and support release decisions.
• Ensure automation is running, analyze failures, and report trends.
• Support governance and promote product quality standards with teams.
• Promote end-to-end testing across multiple applications.
• Adopt Agile testing practices and Test Driven Development.
• Collaborate with Product and Scrum teams to plan testing and metrics.
• Plan QA tooling and tech decisions with distributed teams.
• Leverage AI tools to speed up test creation and execution.
