Job summary

Charles Schwab is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to design scalable quality solutions for workplace applications. The role is on-site in Southlake, Texas, with a focus on improving automation, test coverage, and release reliability.

The candidate will partner with Scrum teams, engineers, and product owners to raise standards, reduce risk, and deliver faster, safer changes in a collaborative, in-person environment.

Qualifications

• Quality Assurance expertise in risk-based testing across UI, API, integration, regression, and performance testing.
• Advanced Java capability with object-oriented principles and clean-code practices for automation.
• Advanced REST APIs validation including contracts, payloads, errors, dependencies, and business rules.
• Advanced DevOps capability with automated tests integrated into Git-based CI/CD pipelines for fast feedback.
• Advanced SQL to validate relational data, transactions, test data, and end-to-end outcomes.
• Ability to clearly communicate quality risks, evidence, and recommendations to technical and business partners.
• Hands-on experience building scalable UI and API automation with Selenium and REST Assured.
• Knowledge of load-testing concepts and tools such as JMeter, BlazeMeter, or LoadRunner.

Responsibilities

• Serve as hands-on quality engineering partner for one or more Scrum teams.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, product owners, and business partners.
• Influence technical decisions and raise engineering standards for quality.
• Help shape a culture of responsible experimentation and continuous improvement in quality delivery.
