Job summary

Bestow is hiring a senior underwriting QE professional to own test strategy for underwriting decisions. You will work with underwriters, actuaries, product, and engineering to ensure rules and evidence workflows are correct before deployment.

You’ll lead domain-specific automation growth and act as the QE authority on underwriting correctness, with hybrid remote/work options and a Dallas area possibility.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in life insurance, with substantial time in or adjacent to underwriting.
• Experience in underwriting operations, systems analysis, new business, or testing underwriting platforms.
• Hands-on experience configuring, analyzing, or testing an underwriting rules engine or decisioning platform.

Responsibilities

• Own test strategy and quality signals for underwriting decisions, including rule changes and evidence ingestion.
• Design test scenarios that reflect real underwriting complexity and edge cases.
• Validate rules engine behavior across releases and regression tests.
• Translate underwriting requirements into testable criteria with underwriters and product teams.
• Build and extend API- and data-level automated checks for underwriting domain.
• Investigate production underwriting discrepancies from root cause to prevention.
• Serve as the QE organization's go-to authority on underwriting correctness.
