Job summary

Kake is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to deliver reliable software through thoughtful testing strategies and scalable automation. You will design automated test solutions, validate complex systems, and collaborate with Product, Engineering, and QA teams across the SDLC.

Ideal candidates bring 6+ years of experience, strong automation skills, and proficiency in languages like Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#. Remote work with full PST overlap and a passion for quality are required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience testing modern software applications across the full technology stack.
• Strong experience building and maintaining automated testing frameworks.
• Proficiency with at least one programming language such as Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, or C#.
• Solid experience testing Web Service APIs.
• Hands-on experience with testing frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Jest, NUnit, xUnit, or TestNG.
• Experience working with document databases such as MongoDB.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain automated testing systems and frameworks.
• Create, execute, and automate comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, and data integrity testing.
• Investigate defects, debug issues, and perform root cause analysis.
• Review product and technical requirements to ensure they are testable and clearly defined.
• Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Software Engineers, and QA Engineers throughout the development lifecycle.
• Maintain documentation for test plans, test cases, and testing processes.
• Prioritize testing efforts based on risk, severity, and release timelines.
• Generate testing reports and proactively communicate quality metrics and results.
