Job summary

Cognizant, Johns Creek, GA, is seeking a Lead Quality Engineer to drive quality engineering delivery across a retail portfolio. Hybrid role with on-site presence three days a week (Tue–Thu).

You will lead QA transformation, own Jira stories, and coordinate with offshore teams while leveraging AI to boost productivity and quality. Qualified candidates bring 12+ years IT/QA experience, 6+ years leadership, 3+ years retail exposure, and hands-on Java/Python/JS with Playwright/Selenium/Cypress.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of information technology or quality engineering experience.
• 6+ years leading a large quality engineering team or portfolio.
• At least 3 years of experience in the retail industry (e.g., supply chain, digital marketing, merchandising, or stores).
• Hands-on programming experience with Java, Python or JavaScript.
• Experience with Playwright, Selenium or Cypress for UI and API test automation.
• At least 1 year of hands-on generative AI experience, with strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality engineering delivery and transformation across the portfolio and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Complete assigned Jira stories for the product team, including manual test design, test automation and sign-off activities.
• Coordinate with offshore quality engineers to meet delivery expectations, SLA and KPIs.
• Drive resolution of defects, test-data constraints and environment issues to remove roadblocks.
• Use AI-enabled approaches to improve daily productivity and release quality.
