Job summary

Great American Insurance Group seeks an AI/Automation Lead Quality Engineer to drive AI-enabled quality across the SDLC. You will lead advanced testing practices, mentor teams, and establish governance for modern testing.

The role blends in-office and remote work, with emphasis on collaboration and continuous learning. Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in QA, 7+ years in test automation, and deep experience with cloud DevOps, UI/API testing, and AI-driven testing approaches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of Quality Assurance experience supporting complex applications.
• 7+ years of hands-on test automation experience using tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, Cucumber, Java, or similar technologies.
• Proven success in evaluating and implementing AI-enabled quality engineering solutions.
• Experience developing and maintaining automation frameworks and testing solutions.
• Experience leading automation initiatives or mentoring Quality Engineering teams.
• Experience with cloud-based platforms and modern DevOps practices.
• Experience with UI, API, integration, and headless test automation.
• Experience working in Agile environments with CI/CD practices.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead AI-enabled Quality Engineering leadership across SDLC, AI automation, and modern testing practices.
• Drive AI-assisted testing adoption, automation modernization, and governance.
• Identify opportunities to leverage AI to accelerate test design and defect analysis.
• Define AI-enabled automation standards, frameworks, and best practices.
• Evaluate and implement AI-assisted testing capabilities (auto test gen, self-healing, risk-based testing).
• Partner with Quality Engineering leadership to mature enterprise CoE capabilities.
• Create reusable assets, playbooks, standards, templates, and guides.
• Develop adoption strategies for AI and automation across tech groups.
• Measure effectiveness and value of enterprise quality initiatives.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for automation adoption, AI utilization, and productivity.
• Coach and mentor Quality Engineers on emerging technologies.
• Develop training programs, workshops, and educational materials.
• Foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
• Act as trusted advisor to engineering teams implementing AI and automation.
