Job summary

SkyGrid, based in Austin, Texas, seeks a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to oversee QA for all SkyGrid products, with emphasis on systems, software, and hardware quality per ARP-4754, RTCA DO-178C and DO-254. This role partners with Engineering and Program teams and reports to the Director of Assurance.

The position supports a hybrid or remote work setup and focuses on implementing QMS, audits, and regulatory compliance across the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in a highly technical aerospace-related industry.
• 5+ years QA for highly complex systems (DAL C and higher).
• Strong working knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards.
• Experience leading QA audits with regulators throughout the full program lifecycle.
• Effective communication, self-driven, and capable of regulatory-focused discussions.
• Experience presenting to large groups incl. customers/regulators.
• Familiarity with certification standards such as 14 CFR Part 23, 25, 27, or 29.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate corporate level QMS aligned with SMS and SecMS.
• Develop company policies, operating procedures, and work instructions.
• Ensure audit processes exist for compliance at product/program level.
• Understand FAA and foreign regulatory standards and determine required compliance.
• Manage teams and staffing needs.
• Identify risks and communicate for timely resolution.
• Act as primary interface to regulatory authorities for QA.
• Monitor new standards that may be levied to the company or program.
• Manage and report assurance and certification risks for escalation and resolution.
