Job summary

SkyGrid, based in Austin, Texas, seeks a Senior Software Engineer (Cloud Architect) to lead the design and ownership of cloud-based architectures across AWS, Azure, and GCP. The role requires deep expertise in distributed systems, mission-critical software, and DO-178C development, with leadership to drive design reviews, certification activities, and cross-functional IPT collaboration.

You will work in a hybrid or fully remote environment, reporting to the Certification Software Engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, aerospace, electrical, mechanical, or related STEM field.
• 5+ years building cloud-based solutions in technical/aerospace settings.
• Experience with DO-178C-compliant software development.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems and secure architecture.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and ownership of scalable, secure cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Perform topology analyses and architecture trade studies.
• Align system/software architecture with mission requirements and safety objectives.
• Develop SDDs and support certification reviews (PDR/CDR).
• Integrate cloud with avionics, embedded systems, and legacy platforms.
