Job summary

Peak Performers, in partnership with a public-sector organization, seeks a temporary Senior Quality Assurance Analyst in Austin, TX. You will develop and execute test plans for complex applications and collaborate across business, development, and operations teams.

You will perform automated and manual testing, review requirements, track defects, and mentor peers in QA best practices while maintaining rigorous quality metrics and sign-off processes. This is a 6-month W2 onsite engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university. Relevant professional experience may substitute for required college education on a year-for-year basis.
• 7 years of progressively responsible experience in quality assurance practices across the full software development lifecycle.
• 5 years of experience testing PeopleSoft Pension, Benefits Administration, and Financials, along with 4 years of experience testing SharePoint/K2 and .NET applications.
• 4 years of experience performing automated functionality testing using HP QTP/UFT, Selenium, or Playwright.
• 3 years of experience creating SQL queries, including advanced SQL querying skills, and proficiency with VBScript.
• Extensive knowledge of quality assurance processes, automated testing tools, and testing within large, highly integrated systems.
• Familiarity with current Information Security and Artificial Intelligence concepts and experience using Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical, documentation, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with IT staff, functional users, management, customers, and vendors.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, adapt to changing needs, take initiative, and maintain productive working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed test plans and comprehensive test cases for complex applications based on user requirements and functional specifications.
• Perform unit, comparison, regression, integration, system, functionality, and performance testing using automated testing tools, including HP QTP/UFT, Selenium, or Playwright.
• Review user requirements, identify and resolve discrepancies, clarify business processes, and document expected and actual test results.
• Identify, document, and track defects using automated tracking tools while coordinating with stakeholders to resolve issues and verify testing sign‑off.
• Support functional users during User Acceptance Testing, validate test results, and assist with planning and coordinating all phases of testing.
• Track and report testing status, results, defects, and quality metrics to technical teams, functional users, and management.
• Mentor team members on the use of automated testing tools and quality assurance practices.
• Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, development teams, production control, operations, and other stakeholders throughout test design and execution.
• Perform scheduled after-hours or on-call work when required and complete other duties as assigned.
