Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a seasoned Quality Assurance professional to lead automation testing efforts and oversee end-to-end testing strategies across enterprise applications. You will collaborate with Scrum teams to understand requirements, execute diverse testing types, and mentor junior QA members.

The role focuses on reducing defects, improving test coverage, and driving quality throughout the software development lifecycle in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Quality Assurance; automation background a big plus.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, or 5–7 years of equivalent experience.
• Experience with a test management tool such as Tricentis qTest.
• Experience working in an Agile environment.
• Experience testing IBM applications (iSeries AS400) is a plus.
• Experience testing complex application architectures with multiple dependencies beyond the UI layer.
• History pairing with developers for root cause analysis and coverage evaluation.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies, defect tracking, test automation, and test planning.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Scrum/project teams to understand, test, and support program applications and complex technologies across the enterprise.
• Advance, own, and support team testing efforts.
• Create end-to-end testing strategies.
• Execute tests and coordinate testing activities to ensure quality objectives are met.
• Perform UI, service layer/integration, end-to-end, performance, load, functional, and security testing.
• Collaborate with engineers to understand unit testing, networking, infrastructure, and application architecture.
• Modernize QA practices across off-the-shelf, custom, enterprise integration, and legacy applications.
• Create, maintain, and execute manual/exploratory test cases.
• Identify and execute automation for common test scenarios.
• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to understand processes, technologies, business needs, and requirements, and facilitate meetings.
• Mentor QA team members and provide technical guidance.
• Help remove daily roadblocks to support smooth, high-quality, on-time product delivery.
• Lead detailed root cause analysis and issue triage, and report solution-based quality insights.
• Advocate for quality and drive positive change throughout the software development lifecycle.
