Job summary

Citi is seeking an QA Automation Engineering Lead (AVP) in a hybrid role, based in Chennai, India. You will design and scale test automation across UI, API, and mobile, while mentoring a team and driving engineering excellence.

You will integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines, define roadmaps, and report key quality metrics to leadership while ensuring risk is managed in a fast-moving environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software quality engineering experience with 5+ years in test automation framework development.
• Proficiency in Java, Python, C#, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience with UI, API, and mobile automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and scale scalable test automation frameworks (UI, API, Mobile).
• Lead and mentor QA/automation engineers, set coding standards and perform code reviews.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/Tekton) with automated quality gates.
• Define automation roadmaps, estimate efforts, align testing with sprint goals in Agile.
• Establish and report quality metrics (coverage, pass rates, defect leakage) to stakeholders.
• Assess risk and ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
