Job summary

Citi is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to design and execute automated test solutions that protect the quality of financial technology products used across the business. You will span automation, API, performance, and user acceptance testing, working at the intersection of engineering and QA within Citi's IT Quality function.

You will build and run automated tests, integrate suites into CI/CD pipelines, validate microservices with API tests, and design performance tests to ensure

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of QA experience in the financial services industry, with hands-on test automation using Selenium or Cypress, API testing, performance testing with JMeter, SQL, and JIRA.
• Understanding of integration testing and end-to-end test script execution.
• Knowledge of QA methodologies within SDLC.
• Ability to review requirements and communicate findings clearly in written and verbal form.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and execute automation scripts using Selenium and Cypress to expand test coverage across financial technology applications.
• Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and faster feedback loops.
• Develop API test suites using Postman or SoapUI to validate microservices and payload accuracy.
• Design and run performance tests in JMeter to detect bottlenecks before production.
• Write SQL queries to verify data extraction and metadata storage in relational databases.
• Review automation scripts for quality, readability, and coding standards.
• Compile and track quality metrics across testing cycles and perform root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with project managers and UAT teams to design and implement test scripts and plans.
