Job summary

Semrush is seeking a Senior QA Engineer to build and own QA processes within an active product team. You will establish testing standards, embed quality practices into sprint planning, and own testing across the Site Intelligence product.

You will design scalable test automation using Python, drive API and backend testing, and integrate QA into CI/CD pipelines while collaborating closely with product managers, engineers, and data teams.

Qualifications

• Experience building QA processes and test strategies from scratch within an engineering team.
• Hands-on coding for test automation (Python) plus strong manual testing.
• Experience testing APIs, backend microservices, and data pipelines.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Docker/containerized environments.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Fluent in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Build QA processes from scratch by establishing testing standards for a product team that doesn't yet have dedicated QA.
• Own quality across the product and test Site Intelligence end-to-end.
• Build test automation and design a scalable framework aligned with QA approaches.
• Lead backend API and UI test automation for microservices and APIs.
• Validate cross-system data flows and edge cases before production releases.
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines with staging and release environments.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and cross-functional teams to align QA strategy.
