Job summary

Trident Systems in Fairfax, VA is seeking a Software Engineer to design, implement, and test software for Predictive Maintenance & Logistics projects, focusing on Python development on Linux. You will work in a fast-paced team, integrating with external hardware and software interfaces, and documenting designs and test plans.

Role is onsite with hybrid work a few days weekly. The successful candidate has a BS in CS or related field with 6+ years (or 4 years with grad) in agile settings,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Software Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent with 6+ years in agile environments or 4 years with graduate degree.
• Experience with Python software development and production-quality code.
• Experience with Linux and Windows development environments.
• Experience with data formats (JSON, CSV, XML) and REST APIs.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/SQLite or similar databases.
• Experience with Git or SVN repositories.
• Ability to troubleshoot across applications, OS, networks and interfaces.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test software for PM&L projects and internal efforts.
• Develop software for data manipulation, storage, translation, and sensor data handling.
• Interface with databases, APIs, and external applications.
• Ensure maintainable, modular design with logging and tests.
• Document designs, interfaces, manuals, and test plans.
