Trident Systems is seeking a Software Engineer in Fairfax, VA (hybrid) to design, implement, and test software for Predictive Maintenance & Logistics and other internal projects. You will primarily work in Python on Linux, interfacing with processors, external devices, and networked systems.

The role requires strong Python development skills, experience with data formats and databases, and the ability to work in a fast-paced engineering team. A Secret clearance is required or achievable.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of related experience in an agile environment OR 4 years with a graduate degree (or 13 total years in lieu of a degree).
• Experience with Python software development.
• Experience developing maintainable production-quality software with modular design, error handling, logging, and testing.
• Experience with Python libraries and frameworks for data processing, automation, APIs, and application development.
• Experience in Linux and Windows development environments.
• Experience with data formats and interfaces such as JSON, CSV, XML, REST APIs, sockets, message queues, or similar mechanisms.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, SQLite, InfluxDB, or similar data storage technologies.
• Experience with Git, SVN, or similar revision control systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot software issues across applications, OS, networks, and interfaces.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement, and test software for PM&L projects and other internal efforts.
• Develop software for data manipulation, storage, translation, sensor data handling, and export to platforms.
• Convert and integrate data into standardized messaging formats and external interfaces.
• Build and maintain software interfaces to databases, APIs, and external applications.
• Implement algorithms for data manipulation, analysis, and presentation.
• Develop software interacting with embedded hardware/software across Linux, Windows, and Android.
• Document development through design docs, interface control documents, user manuals, and test plans.
• Support packaging, deployment, configuration management, and troubleshooting in lab, field, and customer environments.
• Support demonstrations and customer-facing activities as part of a fast-paced team.
