Job summary

SMX Space and Intelligence is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to focus on Python-based solutions for real-time data processing and remote sensing systems. The role is on-site at the customer location in Boulder, CO, four days per week, with DoD clearance requirements.

The candidate will collaborate across teams, deploy using Docker/Kubernetes/Helm, and leverage Jira/Confluence in an agile environment. A BS or higher in CS is required with 9+ years of applicable experience.

Qualifications

• Clearance Required: Ability to Obtain - Secret.
• BS or advanced degree in Computer Science or another relevant field.
• 9+ years of professional experience as a software engineer focusing on Python.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deploy features.
• Write clean, maintainable Python code and ensure performance.
• Utilize Gitlab, Gitlab Runner, Docker, Kubernetes and Helm charts for deployments.
• Optimize applications for speed and scalability.
• Troubleshoot and debug to ensure reliable operation.
• Use Jira for project management and tracking.
