Job summary

SMX Space and Intelligence (S&I) is seeking a Software Engineer to bolster backend systems with Python on-site in Boulder, CO, four days a week. The role emphasizes performance, security, and large-scale defense programs, with collaboration across cross-functional teams.

The candidate will deploy using Gitlab, Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm, while applying DoD standards. A Secret clearance per DoD requirements and a BS in CS or equivalent is required, with 4+ years of Python experience.

Qualifications

Clearance required: ability to obtain Interim DoD Secret clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
BS or advanced degree in Computer Science or other relevant field.
4+ years of professional experience as a software engineer focusing on Python-based solutions.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deploy features.
Write clean, maintainable Python backend code.
Utilize Gitlab, Gitlab Runner, Docker, Kubernetes and Helm Charts for deployments.
Optimize applications for speed and scalability.
Troubleshoot and debug to ensure optimal performance.
Utilize Jira for project management and tracking.
Apply DoD standards and security protocols.
