Job summary

Brooksource is seeking a Senior Python/Django Developer to join an AI & Cloud Platform initiative. You will own backend services, cloud-native components, and AI integrations within a large-scale enterprise environment.

You will work on Django REST Framework APIs, Vertex AI, and RAG-based retrieval systems, building scalable backend workflows in Google Cloud. This role emphasizes hands-on architecture ownership and collaboration across engineering, product, and QA teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional Python development experience.
• 3+ years with Django and Django REST Framework.
• RESTful API design and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Vertex AI.
• Knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and semantic search concepts.
• Secure coding and data handling best practices.
• Strong testing (unit and integration) experience.
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced delivery environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Python and Django.
• Build and support integrations with enterprise project management and workflow systems.
• Develop AI-powered processing pipelines leveraging Vertex AI and RAG architectures.
• Implement semantic search and intelligent document retrieval capabilities across large document repositories.
• Build and manage GCP-based infrastructure including compute, storage, messaging, and orchestration services.
• Create notification and workflow automation systems supporting operational review processes.
• Implement logging, monitoring, auditing, and traceability across backend systems.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects, Product stakeholders, QA, and Design teams.
• Participate in code reviews and establish engineering best practices.
• Support testing, deployment, and production readiness efforts.
• Contribute to technical documentation, architecture discussions, and deployment procedures.
