Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC seeks an experienced Python Backend Developer to design, build, and deploy scalable AI-powered applications using retrieval-augmented generation and agentic AI frameworks. You will create production-grade RAG systems and AI chatbots that securely integrate with enterprise data, APIs, databases, and cloud services.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional Python backend experience.
• Experience designing REST APIs, microservices, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience building production-grade RAG applications.
• Strong knowledge of embeddings, document chunking, semantic search, vector indexing, retrieval, and reranking.
• Experience developing AI agents and multi-step LLM workflows.
• Experience with LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar frameworks.
• Experience integrating LLMs via OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Gemini, or open-source model APIs.
• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Experience with APIs, databases, data pipelines, and enterprise systems.
• Security, monitoring, logging, tracing, observability for production services.
• Docker deployment and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
• Strong communication and collaboration in distributed teams.
• Availability for several hours overlap with US hours.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end scalable RAG system and AI chatbot architecture.
• Develop Python backend services, REST APIs, and microservices using FastAPI or similar.
• Implement document ingestion, chunking, embedding, indexing, retrieval, and reranking pipelines.
• Design and integrate vector search solutions with Azure AI Search or other vector databases.
• Build autonomous AI agents with planning, reasoning, tool use, and decision-making.
• Develop multi-step AI workflows using LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, AutoGen, or equivalents.
• Integrate with commercial and open-source LLMs (Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Gemini).
• Implement memory, session, context management and agent collaboration patterns.
• Connect AI workflows with APIs, databases, enterprise systems, and external tools.
• Ensure asynchronous, high-performance services capable of handling concurrent workloads.
• Establish logging, monitoring, observability, security, and error-handling standards.
• Containerize and deploy AI services using Docker, Kubernetes, Azure or AWS.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and production-ready solutions.
• Collaborate with distributed team while owning architecture decisions.
