Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Python Developer to build backend services powering an enterprise AI platform. You will design and ship Python services with API contracts, testing, and deployment pipelines on Azure, owning end-to-end delivery and operations.

The role focuses on platform planes, governance, event-driven integration, and secure, scalable architectures. You will collaborate across teams and contribute to an agent execution engine with instrumented observability.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of professional software development experience.
• Strong experience with a modern async Python web framework; FastAPI strongly preferred; Flask/Django acceptable with ramp-up.
• Hands-on production experience with a major public cloud; Azure strongly preferred.
• Practical experience with containerized services (Docker) and orchestration on a managed platform (Azure Container Apps, AKS).
• Solid grounding in cloud security fundamentals: IAM, secrets management, network segmentation, least privilege.
• Experience with message/event systems for asynchronous communication.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong API design skills and backward-compatible APIs.
• Testing discipline: unit and integration testing with pytest.
• Clear written and verbal communication across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate production Python services across platform planes.
• Implement and maintain governed API contracts with backward-compatible versioning.
• Build event-driven integration using Azure messaging services for async communication.
• Contribute to agent execution capabilities, RAG pipelines, and evaluation harnesses.
• Enforce security model in code: managed identities, secrets, private endpoints.
• Own deployment and operations: IaC, CI/CD, container deployment on Azure.
• Own test coverage for critical paths with pytest.
• Document design tradeoffs and coordinate across teams.
