Job summary

SANS in New York seeks a Senior Python Developer to help build a firmwide AI Development Platform. You will design and deliver production-grade Python services, libraries, and tooling that scale across teams, ensuring reliability, security, and governance while enabling rapid AI adoption.

You will work on modular, testable systems, APIs and SDKs, with hands‑on experience in Kubernetes and major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science or related field.
• 10 years of software engineering experience.
• 5+ years building production Python applications with typing, tests, and static analysis.
• Experience with Java or C# and strong software design.
• Modular, readable, well-tested production code with clear interfaces.
• Experience with dependency injection and inversion of control (DI containers).
• Strong understanding of data structures and software design principles.
• Test-driven development (TDD) and automated testing experience.
• APIs and SDKs design experience.
• Kubernetes workloads and cloud platforms experience.
• Communication skills and DevOps/CI-CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop tooling and self-service capabilities for deploying AI solutions using Kubernetes, Python, APIs, and REST.
• Build reusable platform components to scale Generative AI use cases.
• Develop containerized workloads with Kubernetes.
• Integrate with vector stores for embeddings.
• Document best practices for Generative AI ecosystems and models.
• Explore GenAI solutions with Agentic Orchestration and Agent Builder frameworks.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
