Job summary

The Charles Stark Draper Laboratory, Inc. in Cambridge, MA seeks a Senior Electronic CAD Designer to create complex PWB layouts using inputs from schematic designers and engineers. The role focuses on high-density PWBs and manufacturability criteria.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of PWB design experience and familiarity with Mentor DxDesigner, Expedition, and advanced packaging techniques. US government clearance is required for this position.

Qualifications

• Requires 10+ years of PWB design or drafting experience.
• Experience with advanced packaging layout techniques (dynamic wire-bond, complex flex, 3D die stacking).
• Familiarity with IPC-7351, JEDEC-JP95, MIL-STD-1835 standards.
• US government security clearance or eligibility is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist electrical engineers with PWB design and layout based on schematics.
• Develop moderate to highly complex PWB designs and related documentation.
• Collaborate with senior staff with minimal oversight.
• Provide feedback to management on process effectiveness and instructions.
• Coordinate with DFM engineers to ensure manufacturability.
• Assist with constraint editing and data entry for projects.
• Communicate project status and issues to management and team members.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
