Job summary

Draper in Cambridge, MA seeks a Senior Electronic CAD Designer to create moderate to highly complex PWB layouts from schematic input. You will help develop high-density boards and support fabrication criteria with DFM engineers.

Requires 10+ years in PWB design, associate degree or technical certificate, and proficiency with DxDesigner, Expedition, and 3D packaging tools. A US government security clearance may be required.

Qualifications

• Requires an associate's degree or certificate from a two-year technical school in applicable discipline or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and skills.
• Formal education in electronics or electrical circuit theory is preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in the field of PWB design or technical drafting with specific tools knowledge.
• Experience with advanced packaging layout techniques such as dynamic wire-bond, complex flex and 3D die stacking.
• Knowledge of PWB assembly, fabrication, hardware assembly, or hardware testing.

Responsibilities

• Assist electrical engineers with the design and layout of PWBs and interpret basic design requirements.
• Work on moderate to highly complex PWB designs and documentation.
• Interface with DFM engineers to define fabrication criteria ensuring manufacturability.
• Edit and enter constraints for layouts; collaborate with senior staff on projects.
• Communicate project status and issues to management and team members.
