Job summary

Draper is seeking a Senior Electronic CAD Designer to create moderate to highly complex PWB layouts using schematic input for high-density PWBs. You will contribute to the development of new or modified layouts and assist with more detailed PCB designs.

The candidate should have extensive PWB design experience (10+ years), strong communication skills, and familiarity with industry standards and manufacturing criteria.

Qualifications

• Requires an associate's degree or certificate from a two-year technical school in applicable discipline or demonstrated equivalent knowledge and skills.
• Formal education in electronics or electrical circuit theory is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists electrical engineers with the design and layout of electrical hardware, primarily printed wiring boards (PWBs), and is able to interpret and understand all basic design requirements.
• Works on moderate to highly complex PWB designs and associated documentation.
• Works with moderate to minimal oversight from senior technical personnel.
• Regularly provides feedback on the effectiveness of processes and work instructions to management.
• Regularly interfaces with DFM engineers to define and implement fabrication criteria ensuring manufacturability.
• Assist engineers with constraint editing and entry.
• Regularly works with multiple senior technical staff members on design projects.
• Requests management assistance when conflicting information is provided by team members.
• Effectively communicates project status and issues to management and members of the project team in oral or written form as requested for the project.
• Performs other duties as assignments.
