Job summary

Iambic Therapeutics, Inc. in San Diego, CA, is seeking a Senior Associate Scientist I/II, Purification Sciences, to lead chromatography-based purification supporting small-molecule drug discovery.

You will perform preparative LC and SFC purifications and help optimize workflows in a fast-paced, collaborative setting. Ideal candidates have 3+ years in chromatography purification, hands-on experience with LC/LC/MS systems, and a strong interest in separation science.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on chromatography purification experience.
• Experience with preparative LC and preparative SFC.
• Knowledge of chromatographic separation principles and method optimization.
• Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced, collaborative lab.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and moderately complex purification using preparative LC and SFC for medicinal chemistry workflows.
• Develop and optimize purification methods, including column/mobile-phase selection and gradients.
• Operate prep LC, prep SFC, analytical LC, and LC/MS systems and perform QC.
• Maintain instruments and troubleshoot chromatography hardware/software issues.
• Monitor instrument performance and minimize downtime through proactive maintenance.
• Support high-throughput purification workflows and data reporting.
• Collaborate with medicinal chemists to prioritize samples and ensure purity and recovery.
• Evaluate and implement new purification methods and workflows.
