Job summary

Iambic Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Associate Scientist I/II, Purification Sciences to advance small-molecule purification at our San Diego headquarters. The role emphasizes preparative LC/SFC purification, method development, and close collaboration with medicinal chemistry teams to deliver purified compounds with suitable purity and recovery.

The ideal candidate has hands-on chromatography experience, instrument maintenance skills, and an interest in scalable, high-throughput purification

Qualifications

B.S. or M.S. in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline with 3+ years of experience
Hands-on chromatography and small-molecule purification experience
Knowledge of chromatographic separation principles and method optimization
Detail-oriented with ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment

Responsibilities

Perform routine and moderately complex small-molecule purification using preparative LC and SFC
Develop and optimize purification methods including column/mobile phase selection, gradients, loading, and collection
Operate prep LC, prep SFC, analytical LC, and LC/MS systems; perform QC of purified compounds
Maintain instruments and troubleshoot chromatography hardware, fluidics, and software
Monitor performance and minimize downtime; support high-throughput purification workflows
Collaborate with medicinal chemistry to prioritize samples and deliver purified compounds
Evaluate new purification methods, columns, instrumentation, and workflow improvements
Maintain accurate experimental and instrument documentation
