Job summary

Iambic Therapeutics, Inc. seeks an experienced Research Scientist, Purification & Analytical Sciences to advance small-molecule purification and high-throughput analytical capabilities within our drug discovery team.

The role focuses on SFC-based purification, method development, optimization, and high-throughput QC, supporting medicinal chemistry and AI-driven discovery cycles at our San Diego HQ. You will collaborate with HTE and discovery teams to rapidly deliver purified compounds and

Qualifications

PhD in chemistry or related field with 0–5 years of relevant experience; or MS/BS with extensive relevant experience.
Hands-on purification and method development for small molecules in pharma/biotech.
Expertise in preparative SFC and troubleshooting; preparative LC preferred.
Strong understanding of chromatography, separation principles, and problem solving.
Experience diagnosing chromatography, fluidics, hardware, and software issues.
Ability to translate project needs into purification and analytical strategies.
Excellent scientific communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute purification strategies using preparative SFC and LC, focusing on SFC method development.
Solve challenging separations by optimizing stationary/mobile phases, gradients, and scale-up.
Support high-throughput QC workflows using LC/MS to assess identity, purity, and sample quality.
Collaborate with discovery teams to deliver purified compounds and data.
Provide hands-on support for SFC, LC, and LC/MS platforms including maintenance.
Develop automated purification and QC workflows integrating data management.
Evaluate new chromatography, automation, and informatics technologies to increase throughput.
