Job summary

Propell is seeking a Purchasing Manager in Granbury, TX to lead a purchasing team and ensure timely availability of materials for production. You will oversee RFQ processes, supplier performance, and cross-functional collaboration with Production Planning, Engineering, Quality, and Finance.

The role requires 10+ years in purchasing/procurement in manufacturing and 5+ years of leadership, with a focus on cost control and timely delivery. ISO/quality experience and ERP proficiency are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business admin or related field preferred but not required.
• 10+ years of purchasing/procurement in manufacturing.
• 5+ years of purchasing leadership experience preferred.
• Experience with RFQs, purchase orders, supplier performance management, and contract negotiations.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems; Syspro ERP a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a purchasing team of ~9-12 Buyers and develop their skills.
• Assign suppliers, commodities, and priorities to team members.
• Set daily/weekly priorities based on production schedules and shortages.
• Monitor workloads, performance, and supplier issues; conduct regular team meetings.
• Coordinate with Production Planning, Engineering and Warehouse to address shortages and schedule risks.
• Maintain RFQ processes, ensure timely responses and accurate documentation.
• Review PO pricing, quantity, part numbers, and delivery terms; resolve discrepancies.
• Develop supplier relationships and drive cost savings while maintaining quality.
