Job summary

Empire Homes is seeking a Sr. Purchasing Agent in Charlotte, NC to manage material takeoffs for new plans and options and maintain takeoffs for existing plans. You will assist with value engineering, plan pricing and cost estimate reviews.

Baseline responsibilities include daily PO reviews, developing scopes of work for trades, managing vendor price agreements and bid analysis for awards. Strong MS Office and Excel skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Business, Accounting or related field or applicable work experience required.
• 3 years' experience in new home construction industry.
• Experience prioritizing work activities and using time efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Project Estimates.
• Daily reviews of purchase orders.
• Develop and update detailed scopes of work for trades.
• Create, oversee, and track vendor price agreements.
• Process award packages and analyze bids for Purchasing head approval.
• Procure and execute vendor rebates and tracking.
• Set up new vendors per policies and procedures.
• Audit data input in accounting and purchasing software for accuracy.
• Act as liaison between vendors, construction crews, project managers and other departments.
• Read blueprints, specs and scope documents to maintain accurate take offs.
