Job summary

Boone Homes, Inc. is seeking an Estimator/Purchasing Agent to drive budget, pricing, and purchasing for luxury new-construction homes in the Greater Richmond area.

You will own releases, budgets, and vendor management, collaborating with Sales, Construction, Vendors, CAD, and Database Administration to keep plans on track. The role requires 2–5 years of residential homebuilding experience, plan interpretation skills, and strong MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret residential plans, specifications, selections and option docs.
• Strong budgeting, cost control, and job costing skills.
• Experience with homebuilding software; Marks Systems preferred.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate job releases for new homes and changes.
• Develop and maintain detailed house budgets (base scope, options, changes).
• Issue and validate purchase orders, confirming scope, quantities, pricing, and timing.
• Price buyer options and changes using current costs and margin requirements.
• Solicit and maintain vendor/subcontractor pricing aligned with plans and quality.
