Job summary

The Florida Department of Transportation in Lake City is seeking a Purchasing Agent III to manage complex procurement. You will analyze requests, develop solicitations, review bids, and issue contracts while ensuring compliance with state procurement rules.

Qualifications

• 4 years of professional or non-professional purchasing experience or an Associate’s Degree plus 2 years of professional experience involving competitive procurement; Florida Certified Contract Negotiator can substitute for education.
• Knowledge of laws, rules, procedures and practices governing procurement of contractual services and commodities; contract negotiation techniques.
• Skills in computer-based spreadsheets, internet, databases and word processing; ability to review documents for accuracy and completeness.

Responsibilities

• Analyze procurement requests, review specifications/scopes and coordinate solicitations.
• Acquire commodities and contractual services through ITB, RFP, ITN, Single Source and Exempt methods; manage MFMP/FLAIR coding and encumbrances.
• Prepare and manage supplements, amendments, time extensions, change orders and contract renewals; maintain organized files.
