Job summary

HarperCollins Publishers is seeking a highly organized Managing Editor to oversee project flow from acquisition through production planning and finished products. You will interface with editorial, marketing, and creative teams and partner with shared service areas to streamline processes and mitigate risk.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of publishing processes, including production, scheduling, and financial management.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Excel required.
• Extensive project management and planning ability.
• Experience with RSuite, Global Works Tool, or similar platforms is a plus.
• Understanding of Christian publishing industry and editorial practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage publishing projects from acquisition through production planning and finished products.
• Collaborate with editorial, marketing, and creative teams to streamline workflows and meet budgets.
• Develop production plans, manage schedules, and monitor data integrity across lifecycles.
• Oversee P&L development, vendor setup, and contract processes.
• Support sales, marketing, and conferences with inventory planning and timely communications.
• Facilitate POD transitions and title reversion processes as needed.
