HarperCollins Christian Publishing seeks a Managing Editor to oversee data flow, production planning, and finish-product quality. You will coordinate with editorial, marketing, and creative teams, streamline processes, and manage budgeting and timelines in a fast-paced publishing environment.

The role emphasizes data accuracy, risk management, and strong collaboration across departments, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of editorial/project management experience in publishing.
• Bachelor's degree in English or related field.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience with project management software and data systems.

Responsibilities

• Data Management & Integrity: Set up ISBNs, facilitate data updates, ensure data quality through lifecycle of products.
• Project Management: Set up schedules in Asana and coordinate with editorial teams to meet KPIs and budgets.
• Product Development: Collaborate with production on specifications and pricing.
• Risk Management: Identify risks early and adapt plans to maximize opportunities.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Document production plans and maintain relationships across departments.
• Process Optimization: Apply best practices from Managing Editorial meetings to improve workflow.
• Financial Oversight: Manage P&L development, vendor setup, and invoicing deadlines.
• Contract Management: Track CRFs and ensure compliance with approval processes.
• Sales & Marketing Support: Ensure accurate data for conferences and TAM info.
• Publishing Transitions: Facilitate POD transitions and rights reversions.
• Author & Stakeholder Relations: Support onboarding docs and author communications.
• Global Tools, Catalog & Archive Management: Maintain title tracker and archive.
• Other: Lead additional projects as needed.
