Job summary

AbbVie is seeking a senior leader to head Publication teams, guiding clinical manuscripts, abstracts, posters and oral presentations. You will ensure alignment with strategic plans, manage internal resources, and partner with Directors to optimize budgets and outsourcing.

Strong leadership and communication skills are essential. The role requires oversight of cross-functional teams, adherence to publication policies, and delivery of high-quality scientific outputs across therapeutic areas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degrees preferred.
• 4–5 years in medical publications; pharma industry experience.
• Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional teams.
• Ability to understand and interpret medical data and publications regulations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; senior-level presentations.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional Publications Team(s) for assets and guide publication execution.
• Oversee timelines and budgets for publication plans (manuscripts, abstracts, posters, talks).
• Review publications for quality and alignment with platforms and policies.
• Partner with Directors to align resources, budgets and outsourcing needs.
• Provide mentorship and performance feedback to staff; manage external vendors.
