Job summary

City of Albuquerque is seeking a Sr. Project Manager to lead planning, design, and construction of Public Works, CIP, and facility projects.

You will manage budgets, schedules, and compliance, coordinating with City departments, consultants, contractors, officials, and communities to deliver high‑quality infrastructure. The role focuses on horizontal projects city‑wide, including transportation infrastructure, and requires strong leadership, coordination, and problem‑solving across multiple

Qualifications

• Nine (9) years' experience in facility construction, architectural design/construction, landscape architecture, or design/construction or capital project management; including three (3) years supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Assume full management responsibility for Public Works, CIP, and facility construction projects from planning through implementation.
• Oversee all project phases to ensure compliance with codes, laws, ordinances, and regulations, including ADA.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, surveyors, consultants, and contractors during design and construction phases.
• Prepare cost estimates, participate in contract negotiations, and oversee consultant selections.
• Monitor performance to ensure contracts are met and projects stay on time and within budget.
• Provide complex staff support to executive leadership and prepare technical reports and updates.
