Job summary

DVJ Consulting Engineers seeks a Construction Inspector II in Los Angeles to oversee and enforce contract documents on road, bridge, and utility projects. You will coordinate with public officials and manage records, change orders, and daily logs.

Strong knowledge of Greenbook standards and plan interpretation is required. Four+ years of aggregate roadway/bridge experience and ability to enforce traffic controls per MUTCD are essential.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with Greenbook standards and Public Works plans.
• Working knowledge of Cal/OSHA Construction Safety Orders.
• Ability to interpret plans, specs and contract provisions.
• Ability to independently identify problems and propose solutions.
• At least four years of aggregate roadway/bridge/water/utility project experience.
• Ability to enforce temporary traffic controls per MUTCD Chapter 6.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction inspection, oversight and enforcement of contract/permit documents.
• Arrange material testing and construction staking through Department staff.
• Respond to complaints and inquiries from the public and officials.
• Coordinate communications and maintain accurate records of work.
• Prepare change orders, daily logs, BMP reports and as-built plans.
• Monitor safety compliance and restoration of right of way.
