Job summary

DVJ Consulting Engineers seeks a Construction Manager to oversee site inspection, enforce contract compliance, and manage project cost and schedule. You will prepare change orders, maintain logs, and coordinate with County staff and other agencies to ensure on-time delivery.

The role requires CA licensure or CCM, experience with Caltrans/Greenbook standards, and strong communication skills. Strong leadership and independent work capability are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college with a major in Civil or Construction Engineering.
• Licensed professional in California, and/or Certified Construction Manager.
• Graduation from the Caltrans Resident Engineer Academy or documented experience as the Resident Engineer on major projects.
• Familiarity with Caltrans Local Assistance Procedures Manual and related standards.
• Ability to interpret plans, specs, and contract documents.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction inspection and on-site management of projects under Public Works oversight.
• Prepare/change orders, logs, and daily records for payment and admin purposes.
• Coordinate materials testing and construction staking; maintain project records.
• Manage project budgets and schedules; monitor cost/schedule performance.
• Interface with County departments and agencies to resolve problems and coordinate planning.
