Job summary

Colliers Engineering & Design, Ramos Consulting Services, now part of Colliers Engineering & Design, seeks a Construction Inspector for LAWA projects, inspecting bridges, roadways, sewers, and traffic control across multiple Capital Improvement Program projects in Los Angeles.

You will ensure compliance with City, County, and Caltrans standards, prepare comprehensive daily reports, and collaborate with a wide team of inspectors to maintain safety and quality throughout complex site work.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of Cal-Trans inspection experience on bridge/roadway projects, or 10 years as a Superintendent on Cal-Trans projects.
• Current City of Los Angeles Deputy Inspector Licenses; Grading, or Post Tensioning preferred.
• 30-hour Cal-OSHA training completed within the last 4 years.
• High school diploma (or equivalent).
• Proven expertise in installation and inspection of sewer, storm drains, utility infrastructure, and traffic control measures.
• Strong working knowledge of City of Los Angeles, County of Los Angeles and Cal-Trans Standards.

Responsibilities

• Inspect major reinforced concrete structures including piles, roadways, and bridges across multiple jurisdictions.
• Inspect sanitary sewer and storm drain installations and related structures.
• Inspect exterior walls, roofing, drywall, ceilings, flooring, and interior finishes.
• Inspect street lighting and traffic signals following LA standards.
• Apply knowledge of LA Standard Plans/Greenbook and Cal-Trans specs.
• Ensure compliance with traffic control plans and pedestrian safety.
• Enforce Cal-OSHA and LAWA safety requirements.
• Prepare daily inspection reports documenting activities, issues, and safety concerns.
• Review Contractor’s monthly progress payment requests based on work completed.
• Collaborate with a large team of Inspectors.
