Job summary

DVJ Consulting Engineers is seeking an experienced Electrical Inspector to join our public works team in Los Angeles. The role involves inspecting electrical, electro-mechanical, electronic, and digital systems across traffic signals, lighting, water and wastewater facilities, and related stations.

You will read complex project plans, ensure compliance with codes and safe practices, prepare detailed reports, and maintain accurate inspection records throughout all phases of projects.

Qualifications

• Certified electrician status and related field knowledge.
• ICC Electrical certificate mandatory or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect electrical, electro-mechanical, electronic, and digital systems of traffic signals, highway lighting, booster pump stations, sewage plants, storm drain pump stations, CDS units, low flow diversion, water disinfection plants and water well pump and electrical panels.
• Monitor electrical work in pump stations, sewage treatment plants, water booster pump stations and all electrical panels related to dam water valve operations; inspect conduit installations, pull boxes, wiring, foundations, signal heads, controller cabinets and detector loops for traffic signals and major electrical services.
• Read and understand complex project plans and specifications, ensure code compliance and safe work practices, prepare reports, and maintain accurate inspection records.
