Job summary

Brevard County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a senior utility engineering manager to direct, coordinate, and supervise all county water and wastewater operations, engineering, construction, and finance activities within the county’s designated service areas.

The role entails supervising professional, technical, and clerical staff; a Monday–Friday schedule with possible evenings/weekends; requires a Master’s degree and significant experience; Florida PE license preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Six years of progressively responsible professional experience in utility engineering programs or projects, including three years in the management of water and wastewater systems.
• Certification as a State of Florida Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct, coordinate, and supervise all County water and wastewater operations, engineering, construction, and finance activities within the County’s designated service areas.
• Supervise professional, technical, and clerical staff involved in utility projects.
• Act as an on-call leader; work schedule may include evenings and weekends as needed.
